CSRI Centers provide service to individuals returning from incarceration in a California state prison to their county of last legal residence who are on parole.

About Us

Collaborative Approach to Reentry

CSRI understands the broad range of services that individuals returning from incarceration need to ensure successful reintegration into the community and their families. From the beginning, founders made a commitment to utilize highly qualified community partners to provide programming such as GED, substance use disorder education/counseling, 52-week batterer’s intervention, community navigation, provision of snacks and transitional housing. CSRI believes that there are many well respected, effective community-based organizations that know their communities better than CSRI. Approximately 25% of the CSRI budget is provided to local community-based organizations or education entities.

Initiative (CSRI) Day Reporting Center assesses each parolee’s needs to determine the appropriate programming that will give them the best chance to successfully remain in the community.

PROGRAMMING

Based on the parolee’s assessment, CSRI will develop a comprehensive, evidence based, Individualized program that will improve the likelihood of the parolee remaining in the community as contributing members of society, in safe and stable housing and employed.

CSRI provides additional support to the parolee through evidence-based classes and frequent meetings with staff.

SERVICES

Based on a parolee’s criminogenic needs and intensive case management, CSRI can provide short-term housing, classes in 52-week batterer’s intervention, anger management, substance-use disorder, adult basic education, vocational education, life skills, job development, financial literacy, and others as needed.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS AND PROCESS FOR INTAKE

CSRI will schedule intake appointments.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

Evidence shows that the more time spent in positive programming, the higher the probability of success. CSRI’s expectations of the parolee include attendance, attire, and attitude. CSRI requires parolees attend programming addressing their needs. Parolee must be interested in and willing to participate in a comprehensive program leading to an independent life.

CSRI participants are required to:

  • Address their criminogenic needs.

  • Engage in regular case management meetings.

  • Maintain communication with CSRI

  • Attend classes with a minimum of 80% attendance.

  • Be willing to achieve independent life, including, but not exclusive to, housing and employment.

  • Adhere to rules and regulations.
